Ergonomics, OHF

Repositioning humans at the heart of the company to increase performance and reliability is a major stake of our time. Every day, the Seres Technologies team of ergonomics and OHF experts take up that challenge.

Humans: Heart of the company

Did you say “common sense”? Considering Ergonomics with the sole notion of conventional wisdom would be as incongruous as reducing politics to small caustic sentences. Though the term “Ergonomics” appeared during the last century -which is not so long ago- the concept dates back to ancient times. Was Mister Homo Sapiens not already creating tools essential to his survival, adapted to its morphology and to the tasks to accomplish? However, the profitability requirement of companies -since the industrial revolution- had to ignore the adverse effects on humans of the use of inadequate machinery or improper work organisation. But that was before !

It is now widely acknowledged that Organisational and Human Factors - OHF - and Ergonomics are the keystone of a solid and profitable business. Seres Technologies focuses its approaches on Humans at work to reach a perfect match between the individual, his tool and his environment. Reducing tensions, stress, fatigue and efforts leads to a decrease in costs and accidents at work, and an increase in Human-Machine system performances and reliability. Our structured and systemic approach is based on defined and proven methods monitored by highly qualified experts.

So, Organisational and Human Factors and Ergonomics : 1% common sense and 99% methodology ? Elementary !

      Monotony ? Don’t know what you’re talking about !

« After more than 20 years of experience as an ergonomist and specialist of Organisational and Human Factors, one could expect a certain weariness… It is far from being the case! My professional experiences have brought me to carry out OHF studies in various fields: transport, health, nuclear, public sector, defence, etc. The various aspects of my job have never left me in monotony. At SERES - which is developing in a significant but controlled manner – I have found a team of dynamic, qualified and professional OHF specialists working seriously in a positive ambiance. One of the values promoted by the Chairman is the well-being of his employees: what more could I ask for ? »

« I enjoy the diversity of missions that I’m given. Each client is different, it is my job to diagnose their actual need. It is collaborative work. On the ground, I have to understand the challenges inherent to work situations in order to propose the most consensual solutions. Such human encounters and the diversity of technical issues shape the asset of my job.»

      Support and solidarity

« Initially trained as a “mechanical design and ergonomics engineer”, I have been an OHF consultant in industry for 6 years. Integrating human factors in a project requires know-how and a specific approach to address the client’s issue precisely. What I like about my job is the diversity of missions. I may operate at all levels of an organisation, be it in a designing project or an operation mission… Field observations and working groups are a major part of our approach. At SERES, I can work with great serenity with the support of management and my cohesive team. »

« OHF proposes a vision focused on humans. There is often talk about human failure, on the contrary OHF enables putting things in their context and repositioning humans as holding a key role in the performance and reliability of systems. This also requires understanding often strong technical constraints at stake. At SERES I have found a cohesive team exchanging and helping each other on one another’s projects. This job full of human interactions is very stimulating. The atmosphere at SERES is similar to OHF: focused on humans. »
